6 And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison.

7 Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands.[Acts 12:6-7]

Verse 6 read together with the previous verses show that Herod had set an appointed time to execute Peter. He planned to do that “after Easter”. However, Peter’s deliverance came on the eve of the intended execution. It was a last minute or even injury time deliverance. When God is involved, it’s never too late. One minute is even more than enough for God to show up.

The devil still sets time for people today to visit them with calamity. That’s why people struggle through life but either die, get paralyzedetc. just before, on or a few days after graduation. Others collide with misfortune upon receiving their first salary or promotion etc. Every satanic appointed times set against your life is destroyed in the mighty name of Jesus!

Verse 7 contains three powerful revelations. The first is that light shone into the prison dungeon once the angel of the Lord appeared.  Light stands for freedom, deliverance, direction, discernment, wisdom and enlightenment. Bible says God is Light, and in Him is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). Wherever God appears, there must be freedom and deliverance by all means.

The second revelation is that Peter’s chains fell of once the angel arrived on the scene. Satan’s chains and strongholds cannot stand the presence of our God. That reminds me of TashaCobbs’ anointed gospel music that says “There is power in the name of Jesus; To break every chain, break every chain, break every chain…” Morris Chapman also sings:

Jesus Your name is power,

Jesus, Your name is might

Jesus, Your name will break every stronghold

Jesus, Your name is life.

Thirdly, Peter could afford to sleep in prison cell, with chains around his hands, though he was billed to be executed the next morning. That’s grace! It reminds me of Isaiah 26:3 which says: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You”.

*May the Lord frustrate every satanic agenda and timings against your life.

*May He disappoint the devices of the crafty so their hands cannot perform their enterprises.

*May the Lord send His mighty angels into all affairs of your life.

*May He give you every assistance required to deliver you from disappointment, headache and anguish of soul, heart and mind.

*May the light of God shine into your life and dispel every darkness.

*May every chain of bad habits and stagnation etc. fall off your life right now.

*We erase every satanic trademark in the Name of Jesus!

*You shall not die, but live and declare the works of the Lord.

*May you receive perfect peace that surpasses all understanding in the midst of the storm.

You’re blessed and highly favoured. Amen.
