The Power of Vision [2]

🌲16 And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered

[Genesis 13:16]

🌲5 Then He [God] brought him [Abraham] outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”

[Genesis 15:5]

As the saying goes “what you see is what you get”. If you see nothing, you get nothing. If you see difficulty and negativity, that’s what you get. If you see victory, you’ll get victory.  Elijah told Elisha “You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so” (2 Kings 2:10). Thankfully, Elisha saw Elijah taken up to heaven by Chariot of Fire and received a double portion of the anointing on his master. Praise God forevermore.

Abraham was surrounded by negativity. His biological clock and that of his wife were pointing to the fact that there was no hope of having a child at their age. That’s why God kept painting positive mental pictures in Abraham’s mind. If you can imagine having as many children as the sand at the seashore and as many as the stars in the sky, it will take away the verdict of the negative medical reports and social and cultural beliefs on such matters.

As at the time God was painting the mental pictures, Abraham didn’t have even one child. Today, Abraham has many Children, including you and me. All Jews through all the ages are the children of Abraham. In addition, all Christians are no matter where they are on the globe are also of Abraham (Galatians 3:29).

Banks and other businesses have collapsed. Maybe you’re home for now. Please jettison the negative pictures the devil is painting and replace them with what God intends for you. Anything that’s telling it’s over isn’t from God. In case you still hold onto your job for now and the enemy is screaming on top of his voice, telling you the job won’t last, replace that with what you know what has in store for you.

The Lord help us to hold onto the vision he has for us until His promises are fulfilled in our lives. Amen
